Saturday 2/25/12: This workshop is an opportunity to photograph the human form in original, imaginative settings we’ll create throughout the day. Utilizing common items found in the studio, we’ll convert part of the studio at RED into a work zone to experiment with paper, foam board, and other items to construct multiple setups for the photographers and models to use.

Photographers will have the opportunity to experiment with several setups they have constructed and experiment with different lighting techniques to control and manipulate the idea. Photographers will work one-on-one and in teams with the figure models for six hours of shooting. Two professional figure models, CH Harvey, MM #1520265, and Adrina Lynn, MM #1017067, will join us to inspire photographers of all levels of experience. $250 advance, $275 at the door

TBD- October 2012

Desert Nudes, Form & Figure- Three of my favorite subjects, the rugged, forbidding landscape of Death Valley, the surreal Alabama Hills and the engaging, sensuous lines of the female form are the focus of this workshop. We’ll split a week exploring and photographing the familiar sights of Death Valley, the salt pan of Badwater, Dante’s View and Zabriskie Point, Golden Canyon and the Dunes, and off the beaten track in the side canyons and ghost towns before venturing to the magnificent Alabama Hills and Mt. Whitney portal.
We’ll be joined by two professional figure models for several days in both locations, providing the opportunity to create truly one of a kind imagery in these magnificent locations.
Days will be long, starting before sunrise, mid day we’ll take time for tech talk and daily critique before heading back out and continuing after dusk, with some optional night shooting.

Portfolio Development for Artists and Photographers - This workshop is intended to introduce the artist and photographer to the process of creating a portfolio to better the odds with galleries. Discuss finding and approaching the galleries right for you, know what to include in your portfolio and what not, and how much for different galleries, portfolio makeup and other marketing materials. This workshop is not a portfolio review of talent, but of structure and presentation.
